Snap!VRS Launches Interactive Online Community to Provide a Social Network for Ojo Users

Members Can Watch and Share ASL Videos, Interact With Other Ojo Users, and Participate in Discussion Forums

June 23, 2008

Pearl River, NY - Snap!VRS, the video relay services provider that distributes the Ojo video phone, today announced the launch of an interactive online community that provides a social network for Ojo users to connect with each other. It is located at www.snapvrs.com/community.

The Snap!VRS online community provides customers with an opportunity to find other Ojo users and interact with them by sharing experiences, trading helpful tips, and discussing common interests. Much like MySpace and Facebook, members may sign up for free, create a personal profile page, and post unlimited videos, photos, v/blogs, message board discussions, and much more. Membership is open to anyone in the deaf and hard of hearing community, as well as any hearing friends or family interested in connecting with Ojo users.

"Snap!VRS wants to provide customers with a fun and helpful online experience that enables them to feel connected with other Ojo users," said Richard Schatzberg, Snap!VRS Chief Executive Officer. "The online community does just that. It has easy-to-use tools for bringing members together, sharing common interests, and creating a sense of community."

The online community is a self-managed website. Members are encouraged to explore, participate, and learn from one another. For example, there are ASL video tips produced by Snap!VRS to help members learn about different Ojo features. Ojo Tip #4 demonstrates how to set up the Ojo videomail greeting. A member may watch this video, then browse a message board forum for suggestions on fun, creative messages from other members, or view ASL videos of greetings posted by other members. Members can engage each other, provide support, and stimulate discussions around topics of interest.

The online community also allows members to stay connected by selecting other members as "friends" and emailing each other using a special email tool. Plus, members can subscribe to each other's postings to stay up to date and list their Ojo telephone number so other members can call them to chat.

If anyone has questions about becoming a member or how to use the online community, please contact Snap!VRS customer service using any of the following methods:

Ojo: 711-SNAP (7627)
VP: ask.snapvrs.com
Email: info@snapvrs.com

About Snap!VRS
Snap!VRS is a video relay service that enables people who are deaf, hard of hearing, or speech impaired to improve the connection with people in their personal and business lives. Eligible applicants receive a free Ojo video phone and use it to conduct true-to-life video relay calls through qualified sign language interpreters over a high-speed Internet connection. Customers communicate with the interpreter using sign language while the interpreter simultaneously relays the comments in spoken English to the standard telephone user.
